“Some of us wait until church on Sunday before we praise God, and even then we don’t come with praise and thanksgiving in our heart. Instead we come with our bad feelings and wait for someone to make us feel better.
Maybe you were up all night with the baby, you had a spat with your husband over breakfast, or your kids acted up in the car on the way to church. Whatever the reason, you come to church in a bad mood.
The apostle Paul instructs us to have a quite different attitude and disposition:
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19-20).

  1. Good insight! I see too many Sunday only Christians. They forget that they are often observed by acquaintances at various times an places, such as work, play, sports, and DRIVING. I have rarely ever heard anyone speaking in Psalms. hymns, and spiritual songs outside of Church. A lot of church going men I know, wouldn’t be caught dead singing hymns or any other song.because they are too shy or inhibited to do so. What a drought of blessings comes with that sort of attitude. Come on men you do not know what you are missing!
